A major international organisation is seeking a Regional Director, Safety & Security to lead safety and security capability across its EAME South operations.

Based in Palma, Spain, this role provides strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of people-facing sites and facilities in multiple countries. Relocation will be offered.

The successful candidate will work closely with regional leadership and global risk teams to strengthen security capability, embed consistent standards, and support safe operations across a complex international environment. The Opportunity

As the organisation continues to expand into new markets and operating environments, the importance of strong regional leadership in safety and security has increased significantly.The Regional Director will act as the principal safety and security advisor across the region, helping to ensure that risk management, incident response, and safety standards are embedded across the full lifecycle of operational sites. The role combines strategic oversight with practical operational engagement, including risk assessment, incident management, capability building, and stakeholder engagement.

Success in this position requires the ability to work closely with operational leaders while influencing and supporting teams across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

The Regional Director will:

• Act as the primary safety and security advisor to regional leadership

• Lead implementation of security policies, standards, and programmes across the regional portfolio

• Conduct security reviews, facility audits, and risk assessments

• Support site openings, transitions, and major operational changes

• Manage and respond to incidents, crises, and security events

• Deliver training and capability development to operational teams

• Lead or support investigations and incident analysis

• Manage security vendors, consultants, and specialist providers

• Build relationships with law enforcement, intelligence partners, and industry peers

• Provide guidance on protective intelligence and travel safety

The Profile

This position requires a credible and operationally minded security leader with experience operating across multiple locations and jurisdictions. Key requirements include:

• Demonstrable experience managing multi-site security programmes

• Strong background in risk management, incident response, and security governance

• Experience building security capability across dispersed operational teams

• Ability to influence senior leaders and work effectively across complex stakeholder environments

• A leadership style that balances authority with collaboration

• Comfort operating through influence rather than direct command structures

• Fluency in English and Spanish

Experience in complex people-focused environments with significant operational activity is particularly relevant.
