An established international retail group is seeking a Security Manager to lead security, safety, and loss prevention across Italy. This is a highly operational role supporting a network of retail stores and working closely with local management teams to protect the business, reduce losses, and strengthen operational controls.

Reporting directly to the Group Head of Security, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving security standards across the Italian market while partnering with retail, operations, and supply chain teams to identify risks and implement practical solutions.

The Role

This is a hands-on, field-focused position, with approximately 70% of time spent supporting stores on site. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing group security policies, procedures, and best practices across the Italian market
  • Identifying and analysing security risks, operational control weaknesses, and loss trends across stores and operations
  • Supporting retail and operations teams to reduce shrinkage and improve security controls
  • Conducting store security assessments and operational reviews, providing recommendations to strengthen processes and reduce vulnerabilities
  • Investigating incidents involving theft, fraud, or loss of assets, both internally and externally
  • Delivering training and awareness programmes to store teams on security, safety, and compliance risks
  • Ensuring all security systems and procedures comply with local legislation and data protection regulations
  • Managing relationships with third-party security providers and technology suppliers
  • Building strong working relationships with local law enforcement and key internal stakeholders
  • Producing regular security reports and analysis for Group Security leadership
  • Managing the local security budget effectively

Candidate Profile

This opportunity would suit someone currently working in retail security or loss prevention who is ready to take the next step in their career and manage security for an entire national market. You'll ideally have experience in a multi-site security or loss prevention role and experience within retail or consumer-facing environments would be great. But you will absolutely be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of security principles and operational processes along with excellent analytical and investigative skills and the ability to interpret data and identify trends

Other required skillsets include strong communication and stakeholder management skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and experience managing external vendors or security providers.
