General Manager - Security Consultancy
We are excited to continue our relationship with this well established group of companies, supporting them in seeking a commercially driven General Manager.
The Opportunity
This is a P&L leadership role with full responsibility for the operational, commercial and support functions of the business. As the figurehead of the organisation, you will drive the winning of new work, manage key client relationships, and deliver the long-term strategic objectives agreed with the owners.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement medium- and long-term growth strategies in conjunction with the owners.

Identify growth opportunities across new markets, services and technologies.

Play a central role in winning new contracts, expanding into new sectors and strengthening existing client relationships.

Identify opportunities for cross-selling, collaboration and efficiencies across subsidiary companies.

Oversee the preparation of high-quality bids.

Work alongside business directors to ensure contracts are delivered to a high standard.

Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, as well as relevant industry standards.

Lead and develop HR, Business Development and Finance leaders, along with company managers, aligning performance with strategic objectives.

Manage full group P&L, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.

Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.

Promote a positive, performance-driven culture across the organisation.

Monitor and mitigate financial, operational and reputational risks.

Mentor and develop the leadership team, with a long-term focus on recruitment and team growth in line with business expansion.
Candidate Profile

Proven background in developing and growing businesses within the security or FM sectors.

Strong P&L management experience with commercial awareness and contract management grounding.

Demonstrable track record of winning high-value contracts through high-quality proposals and effective marketing.

Strong business development capability, able to build and maintain client relationships.

Ideally able to bring existing customer relationships.

Financially astute, confident managing KPIs, overseeing major bids and driving profit and revenue growth in a services business.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Honest, professional, hard-working and committed.

Entrepreneurial, hands-on leader who enjoys shaping long-term development, engaging with clients and identifying growth opportunities.
