General Manager, Security

We are excited to be working with a really interesting organisation who are looking to hire a General Manager, Security to lead, develop and launch of a new security operation in Cyprus.

This is a rare opportunity to build a high-impact service from the ground up. The successful candidate will shape the operating model, help define the organisational structure, establish the right partnerships, and lead the delivery of a fast, reliable and highly professional capability designed to protect people, sites and assets.

The role suits a senior security leader with strong commercial judgement, deep operational expertise and the credibility to work across regulators, external providers and executive stakeholders.

The opportunity

You will take ownership of the design, launch and scale-up of a security and emergency response operation with ambitious expectations. The function will support employees, offices, residential locations and other designated sites.

This is not a “steady-state” management role. It requires someone entrepreneurial, practical and highly credible who can help build the structure, define what good looks like, and create an operation capable of scaling over time.

Key responsibilities

·        Lead the overall strategy, launch and ongoing performance of a new security operation

·        Build the operating model, organisational design and governance framework for the business

·        Ensure full compliance with local legal, licensing and regulatory requirements

·        Develop KPIs, SLAs and reporting frameworks to drive operational excellence

·        Coordinate operational, financial and technical workstreams to ensure smooth execution

·        Manage relationships with external contractors, partners and relevant authorities

·        Represent the operation with senior stakeholders and build trust internally and externally

·        Help shape the future structure of the security operation, including leadership capability and succession planning

Candidate profile

We are looking for a senior leader who combines security-sector credibility with commercial and operational maturity.

You are likely to bring:

·        Significant leadership experience in private security, protective services, law enforcement, military-linked commercial security, or a closely related field

·        A track record of building, improving or scaling security operations in complex environments

·        Strong knowledge of security legislation, licensing, compliance and regulatory frameworks

·        Experience managing outsourced providers, specialist contractors and multi-site operations

·        The ability to design practical operating models, not just manage existing ones

·        Confidence working with senior executives and influencing key decisions

·        A hands-on, resilient and solutions-oriented style

·        An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to create structure in an evolving environment
